On January 4th, 2019 a vacancy occured on the Isla Vista Community Services District Board of Directors with the resignation of Natalie Jordan. The District is following California law and Board Policy to appoint a Director to serve out the remainder of the term, currently ending December 2019 - but likely in December 2020 if the County Board of Supervisors approves the IVCSD's request to switch the 2019 election to 2020.
Applications are due on February 5th by 5pm. The applications will be made publicly available with the Board agenda as per the law. On February 12th at 6pm the Board of DIrectors during its Regular Meeting will hear from candidates, ask questions, and make a decision to appoint somone to fill the seat. Based on the number of applicants, there may be a special meeting or earlier time to allow for consideration of all candidates during reasonable hours of the day. Notification of such a meeting will comply with California law with 15 days of advance notice.

Applicants are free to also submit letters of recommendation. Candidates must live in Isla Vista for the duration of their service and be 18 years old upon taking office.
