On January 4th, 2019 a vacancy occured on the Isla Vista Community Services District Board of Directors with the resignation of Natalie Jordan. The District is following California law and Board Policy to appoint a Director to serve out the remainder of the term, currently ending December 2020.
Applications are due on February 19th by 5pm. The applications will be made publicly available with the Board agenda as per the law. On February 26th at 4:30pm the Board of DIrectors during its Regular Meeting will hear from candidates, ask questions, and make a decision to appoint somone to fill the seat. Notification of such a meeting will comply with California law with 15 days of advance notice.
Applicants will need to submit:

Applicants are free to also submit letters of recommendation. Candidates must live in Isla Vista for the duration of their service and be 18 years old upon taking office.
Board members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended.
Board Member Responsibilities:
- Attend 2-3 hours (on average) Board meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
- Review agenda packet ahead of a board meeting and come prepared
- Stay informed of District business and local issues
