Isla Vista has been historically undercounted, thus, being underfunded and unaccounted for when allocating services for our residents. We at the IVCSD aim to ensure that every Isla Vista resident is counted and can be provided for. To make this happen, we are going to inform every person in Isla Vista of why they should complete the census and how they can help.

Through tabling, phone banking, classroom presentations, social media campaigns, and email blasts, the IVCSD reached out and informed the community about the census.  During the campaign, the COVID-19 shutdowns occurred and extended the deadline for submitting the census.  So, through increased phone banking, the campaign continued to inform residents and slowly improved the percentage of residents who submitted their census (as tracked online).
