You're Invited: Isla Vista Mobility Plan - Final Workshop

You are invited to help us finalize Isla Vista’s first equity-based Community Mobility Plan on Wednesday, May 24th from 6pm-8pm at the Isla Vista Community Center, located at 976 Embarcadero Del Mar. This is the last chance for public input!! The final mobility plan created from this meeting will be sent to the County of Santa Barbara for approval, as well as other community stakeholders.

The goal of the meeting is:

• To create a comprehensive list of transportation projects to be included in the mobility plan (ex: sidewalk infill on Del Playa, protected bike lane on El Colegio, etc)
• To prioritize these projects based on what is most important to the community
• To participate in group conversations and activities that will lead to making decisions on what to include in the final plan
• To discuss all forms of mobility and transportation such as parking, sidewalks, bike lanes, buses, e-scooters, and more.
• To answer any questions.

Spanish interpretation, ASL interpretation, and Mandarin interpretation will be available.

Childcare and dinner will be provided. There will be raffle prizes including a bike, a NorthFace backpack, a Hydro Flask, and a skateboard. The Community Center is wheelchair accessible and handicap parking is available in the parking lot. Please enter through the main door, located on the Southside of the Community Center.

Estás invitado a ayudarnos a finalizar el primer plan de transporte comunitario de Isla Vista basado en la equidad, el miércoles 24 de mayo de 6:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. en el centro comunitario de Isla Vista, ubicado en 976 Embarcadero Del Mar. ¡Esta es la última oportunidad para recopilar la opinión pública! El plan final de transporte se creará a partir de esta reunión y se enviará al Condado de Santa Bárbara para su aprobación. También se compartirá con otros grupos de interés de la comunidad.

El objetivo de la reunión es:

• Crear una lista completa de los proyectos de transporte que se incluirán en el plan (por ejemplo: relleno de la acera en la calle Del Playa, un carril para bicicletas con protección en la calle El Colegio, etc.)
• Priorizar estos proyectos en función de lo que es más importante para la comunidad.
• Participar en conversaciones y actividades grupales que conducirán a la toma de decisiones sobre qué incluir en el plan final.
• Discutir todos los tipos de circulación y transporte; como aceras, carriles para bicicletas, autobuses, scooters eléctricos y más.
• Responder todas las preguntas.

Habrá interpretación en español, lenguaje americano de señas (ASL) y mandarín.

Se brindará cuidado de niños y cena. Habrá rifas con premios que incluyen una bicicleta, una mochila de la marca NorthFace, una botella de la marca Hydro Flask y una patineta. El centro comunitario tiene acceso para sillas de ruedas y estacionamiento para discapacitados. Ingresa por la puerta principal, ubicada en el lado sur del centro comunitario.
