On December 13, 2022 a vacancy occurred on the Isla Vista Community Services District Board of Directors with the resignation of Ethan Bertrand. The District is following California law to appoint a Director to serve the remainder of the term, ending December 6, 2024.
Applications are due February 2nd by 5pm. The applications will be made publicly available with the Board agenda as per the law. On February 7th at 6pm the Board of Directors during a Special Meeting will hear from candidates, ask questions, and make a decision to appoint someone to fill the seat. *The board will be adding an additional date on February 8th to hear from candidates, ask questions, and will make a decision on February 8th.
Applicants will need to submit:
- Letter of intent
Applicants are also free to submit letters of recommendation. Candidates must live in Isla Vista for the duration of their service, be US citizens, and be 18 years old upon taking office.
Board members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended.
Board Member Responsibilities:
- Attend 2-3 hours (on average) of Board meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
- Review the agenda packet ahead of a board meeting and come prepared
- Stay informed of District business and local issues
