Isla Vista Community Center & Community Room Reservation Policies 

Isla Vista Community Services District is dedicated to providing an inviting and welcoming place for all to enjoy recreation, arts, education, community gatherings, and celebrations.

Reservation Process:

1. Facility reservations must be made through our Community Calendar by clicking the “Submit an Event” button.

2. When filling out the event form please note that the “Your Contact Information” section is for IVCSD’s Calendar Administrator to review and will not appear in the public calendar event. The “Event Information” section is public and will be listed on the Community Calendar event.

3. Reservations must be made in advance notice depending on the event.

Public & Nonprofit Organizations 

  • Month Notice: Events with more than 50 people and/or events with a moderate to high amount of physical activity. 
  • Week Notice: Events up to 50 people performing an activity with some physical movement and interaction. 
  • Week Notice: Events with under 30 people performing an activity without a significant amount of physical movement. 

Private Organizations & Individuals

  • Month Notice: Events with more than 50 people and/or events with a moderate to high amount of physical activity. 
  • Month Notice: Events up to 50 people performing an activity with some physical movement and interaction. 
  • Week Notice: Events with under 30 people performing an activity without a significant amount of physical movement. 

4. Please take this into consideration and make these notes on your reservation form: 

Open or Closed Event 

  • Open: Anyone is welcome to attend this event, it is open to the community
  • Closed: Only members of this group are allowed to attend this event, it is closed to new members 

Name of Organization and/or Type of Event 

  • Ex: Edible Campus Program Gardening Workshop 
  • Ex:  Salsa Dance Class
  • Note: community members who do not know your organization should know exactly what will be happening during your event 

Acceptable Titles:

  • IVCSD Board Meeting (Open)
  • Art Workshop 
  • Goleta Valley Library Mobile Bookvan

Unacceptable Titles:

  • Large meeting 
  • Group gathering 
  • IVCSD group 

5. Insurance, fees, and security deposits may be required depending on the event. More information can be found under the Policy Matrix. 

6. The District will respond to all submissions within three business days.

7. Please note that submissions do not guarantee use of District facilities. Users may need to participate in a site visit with District management to confirm a reservation.

8. Users must acknowledge and comply with all facility policies to confirm a reservation. More information can be found in the Interim Policies for Use of the Isla Vista Community Center & Community Room.
