We are Isla Vista - Community Care Project

Imagine a vibrant Isla Vista, where neighbors know each other by name, streets are clean and inviting, and residents actively contribute to the community's well-being. The Community Care Project aims to bring this vision to life by fostering a stronger sense of community and ownership among IV residents.

The project consists of one week filled with fun and engaging volunteer activities within one neighborhood of Isla Vista: Cordoba to El Colegio & Campus to Camino Pescadero. Through hands-on activities such as neighborhood clean-ups, mural painting, community garden expansions, and parkway beautification, the Community Care Project aims to bring Isla Vista residents together, foster a sense of community, and enhance the visual appeal of the neighborhood.

This project is a collaboration between the Isla Vista Community Services DistrictHabitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County, and the Edible Campus Program.  We would like to thank our community partners for hosting events that made this project possible, including Isla Vista Recreation and Parks District, Saint Michael's University Church, Friendship Manor, Showers of Blessing Santa Barbara, and UCSB Puppy Packers.
