Isla Vista, CA- The Isla Vista Community Services District is partnering with the Home For Good Santa Barbara County Americorps Partnership and the United Way of Northern Santa Barbara County to operate a support center for people experiencing homelessness in Isla Vista. The center will operate Wednesdays & Fridays from 12:30-2pm at 976 Embarcadero Del Mar, the Isla Vista Community Center. Services provided initially will be Wifi access, meal distribution, and information about accessing the federal CARES Act stimulus.
This center is in line with the IVCSD Board of Directors action taken on March 24, 2020 directing the use of the District’s facilities for pandemic emergency response. AmeriCorps normally conducts Coordinated Entry outreach office hours to people experiencing homelessness out of the IVCSD District Office, this service is a continuation of those hours.
We are actively seeking additional partnerships to expand this service.
