Isla Vista, CA- The Isla Vista Community Services District partners with the Home For Good Santa Barbara County Americorps Partnership and the United Way of Northern Santa Barbara County to operate a support center for people experiencing homelessness in Isla Vista. The center operates Fridays from 12:30-2:30pm at 970 Embarcadero Del Mar. Services provided include Wifi access, meal distribution, and information to more resources. We are actively seeking additional partnerships to expand this service.

Community Resources

Showers of Blessing operates in Isla Vista at St. Michael’s University Church located at 6586 Picasso Road. Services are provided every Monday from 1pm-3pm and every Friday from 11am-1pm. More information can be found here

Foodbank Distribution Sites operate throughout Santa Barbara County. A full list can be found here

CalFresh is a federally funded food nutrition assistance program. Those who are eligible can receive up to $204 per month for groceries. After you apply, you will receive a plastic electronic benefits card that is reloaded each month. To learn more and determine if you’re eligible, please visit here. 

Santa Barbara County 2-1-1 connects people to health and human services information. Dial 2-1-1, It is available 24/7, free, confidential, and in multiple languages. You can also text your zipcode to 898211. 

findhelp.org is a mutual aid and care networking site that displays the most relevant and accessible independent living, emergency access, and basic need providers depending on an individual’s zip code.
