National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 

Lifeline provides free 24/7 confidential support for people in distress open 7 days a week. They also help individuals find long-term prevention and resources for mental health.

Acacia Counseling and Wellness 

Acacia provides counseling and psychological services to local students and community members. They primarily see insured individuals in Isla Vista and Goleta.

Santa Barbara County Behavioral Wellness

For all Santa Barbara county residents and those who are also non-insured, Behavioral Wellness offers classes, programs, and counseling to individuals with mental health, and or alcohol and substance abuse conditions. ​They offer services for adults, children, and transition-age youth.

This service offers a directory for mental health crisis intervention hotlines. These are all free and available 24/7 in multiple languages. Crisis Support Services (CSS)

CSS provides crisis prevention and intervention counseling to individuals who have developmental disabilities. All calls are returned as quickly as possible. If you have not received a response within 5-10 minutes, call again to ensure your message was received by the CSS Team.

CALM

CALM is a nonprofit that provides trauma-informed programs and services that effectively treat child abuse and promote healing. Services are provided to all in both Spanish and English, at a sliding scale or free of charge if needed; no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. To refer someone, visit their website and fill out the referral form offered in both English and Spanish. For self-referrals, individuals are encouraged to call the office.

CASA Pacifica 

Casa Pacifica serves all Santa Barbara County children and youth 20 years old and under. Casa Pacifica offers adolescent and family services designed to treat victims of abuse and neglect, substance abuse, homelessness, and other behavioral and mental health issues. CASA Pacifica also offers a program called Safe Alternatives for Treating Youth (SAFTY), which provides children crisis services in collaboration with CARES (Crisis and Recovery Emergency Services) SAFTY provides quick and accessible service to families by providing specialized crisis intervention, in-home support, and linkage to County Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services or other appropriate services. The SAFTY mobile crisis response service is available from 8am to 8pm daily and can be contacted by calling their crisis hotline at: 1-888-334-2777.

SB TAN

SBTan is an advocacy group focusing on trans affirming education, services, support, and spaces in Santa Barbara County. The SB Transadvocacy Network meets on the 1st of each month online over zoom. Their goal is to create a safe support network where individuals can find a community and receive access to trans approved physicians and counseling.

STESA provides confidential counseling and support services to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. In partnership with STESA, the Survivor Resource Center is available in Isla Vista.

Santa Barbara Response Network (SBRN)

SBRN mobilizes caring volunteers with training in psychological first aid and how to provide compassionate social support in the aftermath of tragic events. This is not a counseling or mental health program, and instead, it focuses on empowering people whose resilience is being affected by trauma.

SAMHSA’s National Helpline

SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357), (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service), via text message: 435748 (HELP4U), or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations.
